Phonics and Reading: We teach systematic synthetic phonics (SSP) through the Letters and Sounds Programme - July 2021: this is under review as we await the Government's updated Accredited SSP Programme Providers list. Children learn to read through the Oxford Reading Tree Scheme - Floppy's Phonics, and Biff. Chip and Kipper books. Additional texts supplement our reading scheme and we have a large infant and junior library to support reading. We actively encourage families to read at home and also to volunteer in school to read with children.
