Dangerous Dinosaurs

19th January 2018

When we came back to school from our Christmas holiday, not only was Miss Nash back but there was a strange egg in a nest, left in our classroom! It's a very large egg and we think it might be from a dinosaur. Cherry class are taking good care of it to see which dinosaur it hatches into. We have been finding out about dinosaurs so we know how to look after the baby dinosaur.

We have been learning about the T-Rex this week, we have been finding out information about them and then writing a sentence about what we have learnt.
We are learning to put spaces between our words and start a sentence with a capital letter and end it with a full stop.
We have also been practising sounding out and reading words so that we could label the T-Rex correctly.
We coloured in some pictures of dinosaurs beautifully and then had a go at spelling their names.
We also painted some pasta and then had a go at making a T-Rex using them.
We used PVA glue to stick the pasta to the card, our hands got very sticky!
Our finished dinosaurs looked amazing.

We have had a busy week, we even made T-Rex masks.
We had fun roaring and pretending that we were dinosaurs.
In maths we used the numicon to find lots of different ways to make 10, haven't we done well.
We have also been learning to count and order numbers to 20.
We used the numicon to split the teens numbers into tens and ones
We are working hard and having lots of fun learning about dinosaurs.
