We are learning...

6th October 2017

Over the last two weeks we have been learning how to write our names, begining to learn initial sounds and use them to read and write and have been counting objects to 10 and ordering them correctly.

On this day, we learnt the i sound and so we are making Indian masks to help us to remember this sound.
Today we learnt the p sound, we are practicing forming this letter correctly.
We are using the sounds that we have learnt to read 3 letter words such as sat and pin and match them to the correct picture. We are very clever.
We are practising spelling three letter words.
We have also been using Numicon to help us to count to 10. We have ordered them and now we are practising writing our numbers in our Maths book.
We have fruit and milk every day to help us have the energy to learn, we get to listen to a story at this time.
We also had a chance to make models from boxes and card. We used glue and masking tape to join the materials together.
We are also learning to play cooperatively, to share ideas and to make new friends.
Mrs Shannon came into our class and taught us some poetry, we were very good at learning the poem.
We also took part in the St Francis and Harvest liturgy, we all sat and listened very well and some of us helped Miss Nash so we had to sit at the front.

Over the next two weeks we will be finding out a bit more about Autumn. We will be going on Autumn walks around the school grounds, it would be very helpful therefore, if we could have wellington boots in school. Thank you.
