Exploding Volcanoes!

Tuesday 4th October

In our geography topic this term we have been learning about how active our planet is. We have learnt that we live on a thin layer of rock crust and beneath this the rock is molten. Sometimes the molton rock erupts through the crust and forms volcanoes.

We made a volcano from a small pastic bottle, newspaper and card and then we painted it.
Miss Nash, with the help of Mrs Day, then filled our volcanoes with vinegar and red food dye.
Next Miss Nash added bicarbonate of soda and our volcanoes erupted!
It was very exciting and we all enjoyed watching our volcanoe erupt.
