St. Francis' Catholic Primary School

"For it is in giving that we receive." St. Francis of Assisi

Weather: Update for tomorrow 2/3/18. Click and read below

Owing to the variable forecast we have decided to delay making a final decision on opening or closing until the morning. This way we will be able to see what the snow does overnight and what the forecast is showing for the rest of the day. I will update the website in the morning.

At this point we intend to open, with a later start. Audley will open at 9:30am and St Francis at 9:45am.

If we open, the children should wear warm home clothes (preferably trousers, jeans, leggings etc). They should have suitable wellies, or boots for outdoors and some shoes to change into for indoors at school. They should bring spare socks and trousers in a carrier bag. As is traditional at St Francis’, we will take the children out in the snow if possible. If they have spare clothes, they can then change if they get wet.

Year 3 swimming has been cancelled for tomorrow.

Please note that if we open and the weather deteriorates, we will have no choice but to re-assess and if we feel it is necessary close.

World Book Day – Hold onto those costumes! Dressing up day will now be on Monday 19th March and the show, Pilgrims Progress, has been re-arranged to Friday 23rd March.

Year 6 Secondary Places: These came out today. If there are any issues/problems, please email the office explaining the issues. Mrs Brown will forward any emails to me. I cannot change allocations but can try and advise.

Thank you for your patience, most of us are parents and know how awkward it is at these times, especially with work. These decisions are some of the hardest to take, but always done with the children’s safety in mind.
